The reason we gather

Our mission

To educate and inspire community interest, involvement and research using mushrooms to increase food sovereignty, nutrition, soil fertility, health and wellness, and environmental remediation through presentations, exhibits, workshops, art and music featuring fungi.

From intention to practice

Make the unseen
part of the conversation.

01

Learn together

Make mycology approachable through talks, demonstrations, field-minded observation, and hands-on workshops.

02

Build local capacity

Share useful cultivation and food knowledge that supports resilient, community-rooted food systems.

03

Care for living ground

Explore soil fertility, biodiversity, remediation, and restoration with humility and attention to evidence.

04

Make room for culture

Bring art, music, food, and wellness into a gathering shaped by place and the people who call Hawaiʻi home.

“The work starts with paying attention—to the land, to one another, and to what fungi can teach us.”

How we hold this work

Place first

Hawaiʻi is not a backdrop. Local ecology, knowledge, and community shape the questions we ask.

Curiosity with care

We distinguish observation from identification, possibility from proof, and cultivation from ecological origin.

Knowledge in common

We welcome researchers, practitioners, educators, growers, artists, and neighbors into the exchange.
